This particular Location never seems to have enough cashier's working but plenty associates walking around store and several on their personal cell phones. It's really sad because they actually have good product lines and decent pricing. Location is great and store is well maintained customer service needs serious improvement

Unfortunately this is the closest Academy near me. We just stopped by to buy shoes for my kid, granted it was 35 minutes before closing time but we were going to be in and out. Being from the retail consulting industry I’m alway cognitive of customer service. So, once I realized no one was greeting us I started keeping track. Like always I slid by the gun counter for a minute and while there a red headed lady who I believe is the manager didn’t say a word to me while I was looking around even though I was only about four feel away from her. A young man spoke up and I was like finally, someone is going to greet me but, it turned out he was talking to the redhead. So, my wife and I headed to kids shoes to purchase what we originally came there for. After leaving the gun department we walked by a group of four young employees in the isle in which not one greeted us. We made are way to the shoe department where I encountered an older gentleman that made direct eye contact with me and looked the other way without saying a word. While looking at shoes and while walking out we encountered several more employees of which not a one acknowledged us. I counted a total of twelve employees without as much as a hello. This store would save a lot of money by just getting rid of most of the employees as they aren’t really helping the bottom line but just riding the clock. Amazon here I come to buy the shoes for my kid. No wonder brick and mortar is suffering. If your selling any product that is also available online then you have to give the customer a reason to come in to your store. That reason is customer service. Also, I like the way they close the gates at the front door 15 before closing time. I guess they had already made enough money for the day.
